Located about 20 kilometers from the Sylhet district of Bangladesh, the Ratargul Swamp Forest is one of the world’s few freshwater swamp forests. Spread over 3,325.61 acres ( 134,582 ha) of land, the Forest borders the Gowain River, often surveyed by boats full of tourists going up the river. It is most suggested to visit during the rainy season when the river overflows and floods the Forest to a greater extent.
