This is the official digital reference image created and used by artist Chris Bordenca to paint Mission: Unknown. Only 1 will be made available.
About the image:
One of my earliest memories is sitting on the kitchen floor in my grandmother’s house playing with this robot in the late 70’s. A close family member had surgery around that time, and I’ve always associated the image of this robot in my mind with that time.
I NEVER imagined I’d see this robot again, let alone figure out what it was called, or that I’d be able to own one. A few weeks ago Plaid Stallions posted images of some early Star Wars knock offs, and one of them was called Zeroid.
When I searched for Zeroid, one of first things that popped up was this robot. Zobor from a series of late 60’s robots called Zeroids. I was completely flabbergasted. I knew immediately it was the same one I’d sat with on the floor when I was tiny.
The Fisher Price Adventure People astronaut, X-Ray Man, and the ship Firestar 1 make up the rest on a classic 70’s linoleum floor.
The physical painting can be seen at bordenca.com, it is not for sale here.
