The vertical city portraits are based on photographs taken in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, in 2018. Although the number of skyscrapers and other buildings with elaborate designs and unusual styles of architecture is increasing, the majority of Tokyo's streets are still lined up vertically in an orderly fashion like this. I chose this photo as a base for my work because I liked the composition of the vertical line of buildings and some power lines crossing them. I hope you like this old-fashioned cityscape of central Tokyo as much as I do.

垂直方向の街のポートレートは、2018年に東京都中央区銀座で撮影した写真をベースに制作したものです。現在は超高層ビルなど意匠を凝らした変わったスタイルの建築物も増えてきましたが、依然として東京の街の大部分はこういった縦方向に整然と並ぶスタイルです。私が作品のベースにこの写真を選んだ理由は、整然と並ぶ縦方向の建築物とそれを横切るいくつかの電線という構図が気に入ったためです。 このある意味古き良き東京都心の街並みを、あなたにも気に入っていただければ幸いです。
