The backstory:
I love my car and I was very happy with it when I bought it from an online marketplace. I did not even test-drive the car, nor viewed it as it was bought online from another state.
It was still under 4 years of warranty and had only about 9,000 km of mileage. And it was sold at below the market price.
So, I had my friend check it out to see if everything was fine and I just bought it outright as my 14-year old car at that time could not move another mile without breaking down.
The then new car gave me lots of joy and a feeling of pride as it was quite a pretty thing. Although it was a small car for the ladies, it still gave me a sense of power and joy.
However, after almost 10 years now, my little pride is now only a shade of its full glory from when I first got it. Today, it breaks down more often than I think it should and I am sad to see it in its current state.
In my mind, the coils, springs and all the stuffs that had kept it going have almost lived their full life.
Somehow, my unconscious mind captured the true image of the car; some parts in all its full power and some, slowly broken down from wear and tear.
Maybe it's about time for me to visit the online marketplace again soon...

This is a serie of paintings that I did from the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown beginning March 2020.
During this period, I have just shuttered by technology startup company which nearly bankrupted my family. It marked the end of the nightmare decade of trying to stay afloat, whilst bringing up my 3 toddlers.
I had just started another company and business has been good. For the first time since the birth of my first child, our family could finally afford proper meals in decent eateries and life has become a little better.
As you may also notice, the new works have also taken on their new style which has more definition, positive, contrasts and colorful.
I have also begun to love the styles of Picasso and more contemporary art legends like Warhol and Basquiat. You will see some of the strokes and compositions from them in my new stuffs.
