I grew up in a Thai society with Buddhism as the national religion. Therefore, I have been familiar with the lotusflower since my childhood. Buddhists have used the flower to worship the Triple Gems since ancient times. Every gesture of the Lord Buddha from when he was born, sitting, standing, and walking, was supported by lotus. My work of the black niello powder compact has chosen a lotus pattern. It is displayed together with the four lotus flowers to emphasize and reflect the difference of human beings in society and pointing out the path of living like a wise person according to the Buddhist metaphor about the four levels of lotus.
