Catching these snow hats from Valley View usually means waiting out a storm heavy enough to dump layers on the river rocks. After the storm passed, the forecast looked promising for sunset so I framed El Capitan in the Merced river surrounded by these snow covered rocks. As the sun set from behind, an amazing blast of light hit the top of El Capitan and the high clouds above producing a magical sunset that reflected in the Merced perfectly.

Yosemite National Park is amazing all year round. Winter brings snow, fog and the famous Firefall phenomenon. Spring brings raging waterfalls, meadows of wildflowers and flooded valleys. Summer is amazing for hiking and visiting popular areas that are accessible after roads are cleared such as Glacier Point and Tioga Pass. Fall brings amazing reds, yellows and oranges blanketing the valley floor as trees show off their color.
This collection represents countless hours photographing my favorite National Park in every season to show the world its true glory. The mood and ambiance changes with every season and it's one of the few National Parks you can visit all year round and come away with great memories no matter when you visit.
