Mila Fürstová's "All the Rivers That Flow Through Me" was hand selected by the artworld superstar Grayson Perry to be displayed prominently at London's Royal Academy.
The Royal Academy chose this work from 12,000 submissions (the world's largest open submission exhibition) to represent their world-famous Summer Exhibition on social media.
The Evening Standard featured the work in their ES Magazine: www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/esmagazine/grayson-perry-royal-academy-summer-exhibition-a3854891.html
Mila, who is most famous for making the album art for Coldplay's world-wide number one album Ghost Stories, said: "I consider "All The Rivers That Flow Through Me" one of the key pieces of my career. When making it I tried to draw all the creative power, imagination and technical skill I've accumulated since becoming an artist. For me, it is a piece about creative power. In my art, I've always built intimately on my personal mythology. Being a female artist as well as a mother play the central role in this piece.
I portray myself as a "place" through which rivers of creativity flow, a woman who actively draws them out, plays with them and celebrates them... I'm also a "home" for my children who also are deeply engaged in their own creative play.
The colour I have chosen is warm and homely but, in combination with the posture, also somehow regal as it depicts creativity being both one of the most simple and one of the most noble things in life."
