This is one of my favorite covers for this series because it shows my two teen characters contemplating what it means to live in a world overrun with zombies. Will they live forever with the undead? Will their children? Will all of humanity wander the earth as zombies until the dying sun burns them all away?

The story also journeys to the city of Cairo, IL, which sits on a finger of land at the junction of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. If you block off the top of the finger, the zombies can't get through. Well, not until there are a million of them storming the barricades...
