In 2019, the 1UP crew decided to paint a whole train - with extinguishers - in traffic - from all sides. The idea was born out of the question: "How many extinguishers do you need for this?" But in the end we were more than enough people and extinguishers to manage it. With this NFT you can own a piece of never before released video footage from this action that took place in Berlin.
THE 1UP CREW
1UP or "One United Power" is mostly famous for their worldwide graffiti activity. Street bombings in broad daylight, whole cars in running traffic and rooftops at dizzying heights. As the artists hit the streets, they are also making waves in the art world, with installations, prints, canvases and books. There are international artists in the crew, women and men from cities all over Europe. It‘s a family, where "strength in unity“ is the rule: One Crew, One Love, One Power.
BIO: THE 1UP CREW
1UP stands for the Zeitgeist of Berlin like no other contemporary collective. Having its DNA deeply rooted in the streets of Kreuzberg the crew turned into a global family, which is meanwhile one of the most famous graffiti crews worldwide. Collaborative and collective work with spectacular stunts and logistically highly demanding actions are part of the identity of the anonymous artists group.
Superchief Gallery is the world's 1st physical dedicated NFT gallery space. Since we opened our first digital art gallery in Soho back in 2016, Superchief has held the belief that digital-native artwork was an essential art form to include as part of the larger art movement of our era. We have had been running our version of a traditional art gallery space since 2012 and by 2016 we knew well that there wasn't a clear way to monetize digital artwork. But we felt strongly that just because we couldn't sell it at the present time, didn’t mean it should be kept apart from the art community at large. These are artists we feel are brilliant and exciting, and should be part of the cultural exchange.
