Commentary: This work, entitled "The sacrament of a woman who eats love" is based on the passion of "I like it so much that I want to eat it, and I can't help it." The depiction of a saint eating a loved one includes the extreme themes of love's "sacredness" and "freshness." The saint of the motif carries out cannibalism (killing and eating people) like a sacrament. At first glance, this painting seems to violate a taboo in religious ethics. However, there is Christ's teaching that killing an organism is not a sin if it is intended to be eaten directly. This teaching is combined with the legend that the act of the cannibal race was an expression of almost religious respect for the other person and a desire for unity. He put the madness that he had nowhere to go into the ultimate expression of affection that eats his beloved partner, captures it in himself, and assimilates it. The subject who occupies the whole work is not a terrible monster like Goya's "Saturn Devouring His Son", which has the same expression as a cannibal, but a woman who is dressed the same as Our Lady of a religious painting. In the center of the work, the skull and the girl kissing in her ribs express the originally pure beauty and love, and the unfulfilled love. From that point of view, she transforms into an ugly old woman and a biased expression of madness, and the composition is such that the transition of love can be read through a single picture. 解説；『愛を食べる女』と題された本作は、「食べたくなるほど好きで好きで仕方ない」という激情を創作の原点とした。 聖女が最愛の人を食べる描写に、愛が持つ「神聖さ」と「生々しさ」という両極端のテーマを内包させた。 モチーフの聖女はまるで聖餐のようにカニバリズム(人を殺し食べる)を遂行している。一見、この絵は宗教倫理におけるタブーを犯しているように見えるだろう。しかし、生物を殺すのはそれが直接食うことを目的とした場合は罪ではないというキリストの教えがある。 この教えに、人喰い人種の行為は相手に対するほとんど宗教的な敬愛と結合の願望の表現だったという言い伝えを織り交ぜ一つの画角に収めている。行き場のない狂愛を、最愛の相手を食し、自分の中に取り込み同化する究極の愛情表現に込めたのだ。 作品全体を占める主体には、同じ食人表現をしたスペインのゴヤ『我が子を食らうサトゥルヌス』のような禍々しい怪人ではなく、宗教画の聖母と同じ身なりをした女性を起用した。 作品中央、肋骨の中で接吻する髑髏と少女には、本来純粋だった美と愛、叶わない恋を表出させている。その一点から俯瞰すると、醜い老婆と偏った狂愛表現に変貌し、一枚の絵を通して愛の変遷が読み取れる構図にしている。 突き立てられた7本の短剣は、カトリック教会の聖母マリア美術「悲しみの聖母」に多く見られる表現である。聖母の心臓に刺さる7本の短剣は、それぞれが7つの悲しみを表現しており、今作では宗教画に共通したこのテーマを引用した。 悲壮感は男性側により強く出ている。美貌の男性に肉はなく、丁寧に食べられたのか、骨だけが綺麗に残されている。皿に添えられてた食べかけの心臓と目玉、そして今にも呑み込まれそうな顔からはどこか悲壮感が漂っている。さらに心臓のない空洞の肋骨を囲むように蝶と蛾が行き場を失ったように不自由に舞っており、どこか虚ろさと不自然さを感じさせられる。 ドールやペットのように、愛情を一方的に向けられ消費される男性、その左手薬指には指輪がぶら下がっている。両手を併せて作られたハートは男性の無意識か、女性の作為か。 一方通行の愛を考察の余地を多く混ぜ込んだ本作『愛を食べる女』は、創作者として新たな軸を確立させた作者による渾身の一作。
