In a city as big as Tokyo, it is easily to get lost. Some people think that getting lost carries a negative connotation, but if you are free to adventure it can be an invitation to worlds otherwise unseen. You find yourself bopping around this zooming metropolis when you look around and realize you have absolutely no idea where you are. Instead of freaking out and calling a ride back to somewhere familiar, you keep walking aimlessly. You find yourself beneath an overpass and see someone else by their lonesome, wandering Omoide-Yokocho. Ironically, or perhaps coincidentally, Omoide-Yokocho means “Memory Lane” in Japanese. Funny that getting lost in a place you have never been to before leads you down memory lane...

(selected) Memory is a collection of photographs and words that I have taken and written to bring you into the headspace that I was in my travels shortly before the lockdown. I look back very fondly on these times as they were both brand new experiences for me, as well as the last time I traveled outside of the country. The words accompanying these photographs include a piece about where I was and what mindset I was in when I took them, as well as a musical pairing for your listening pleasure. Thank you for viewing, sharing, and hopefully collecting these works. Be Well. - MB
