  • This 1-of-1 NFT is a short story that Matt Fortnow, co-author of The NFT Handbook, wrote in 8th grade. The assignment was to write a creative short story. As most of the kids in the class wrote about a day at the shore or trying to win a prize at the carnival, Matt bucked the trend with a thriller inspired by Dirty Harry and Death Wish. A favorite story amongst the guys in the class, the teacher found it “Quit gory.” I think she meant “Quite.” One of her comments was that I used improper grammar in a ransom note. I knew the grammar was off, intentionally. I told her that the character in the story who wrote the note was not concerned with grammar, making it more authentic. She didn’t believe me and dropped a B on it. Such is the life of a writer.

  • Matt also drew the cover for the story as well.

  • The owner of the NFT can access the full story, complete with all of the teacher’s red markings, in the unlockable content area.
