A 1945 Double Magnum format Cru Classé Bordeaux red blend made from predominately Cabernet Sauvignon with small percentages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from the Saint-Julien sub-appellation located within the Médoc appellation found on the left bank of the Gironde Estuary. This wine has a surprisingly youthful profile with aromas of liquorice, blackberry, plum, menthol and black pepper. Hints of leather, and incense round out the complex, meaty palate. Deliciously fruity with spicy, tannins to finish creates a lovely representation of this vintage.
