My Ozark series was inspired by the television show, “Ozark”. I loved the color grading of the blues and starkness in the show that sat against an otherwise green and lush landscape of pine trees. I had visited the Ozark lake area where the show was filmed and though I thought it was quite beautiful, I also remember feeling a sense of eerie darkness, loneliness, and isolation that hid in the woods.

Layers of oil paint, mark making, and other materials were used to help create texture and light in the original painting.
