My favorite time to be out photographing people and streets is when it rains. When it rains, you can get really beautiful reflections and colors that you would not otherwise see. Oftentimes, people ask me how I can get such colors or which camera and lens I am using to obtain these images. The reality is that it is not the camera nor lens, but rather the time the picture was taken as well as the subject.
In this case, I took this picture during a holiday called Buddha's birthday in Seoul, South Korea. During Buddha's birthday, they line up the streets with such beautiful lanterns of various colors. In my mind, I was imagining that it would look quite beautiful if it were to rain, and so I wanted for the perfect night to go out to downtown Seoul and capture this image.
