Cycle depicts a group of Pacific reef herons patrolling back and forth on the beach of Ninh Thuan, Vietnam. They come and go. But they never leave, just like the sun that rises and falls everyday. The painting is representative of human beings' resilience and perseverance: no matter what happens, we’ll always stand strong.

The artwork was an inspiration from the artist’s trip with his little family along the coast of Ninh Thuan back in 2016. The Pacific reef Heron is a common bird that lives along the seashore and the only egret that has black instead of white plumage.

Hoang decides to donate this piece to Mask On as it shares the same meaning with the initiative. He believes that humanity is resilient enough to survive and overcome this pandemic. And hopefully, after this is over, we'll learn to treat the environment and ourselves better in order to confidently step into a new phase, healthier and happier, of the cycle.
