Darjeeling The temperature difference between night and day was so great that I went to a nearby trekking equipment rental store and rented a thick padded jumper. In South India, where I first started traveling, even though it was December, it was so hot that I almost took off everything, but now it is so cold that I wear a parka as the basics and wear it layer by layer. I was again amazed at the vastness and diversity of India.

Darjeeling is a mountainous resort located at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level. It became more famous because of Darjeeling Tea and the movie <Darjeeling Co., Ltd.>, but in the past, this place was also affected by many hardships and influences due to British colonial rule. There were more people from Nepal and Bhutan than people from India. The view of the huge snowy mountain in front of me was so wonderful that I purposely chose the hostel as a location on a high ground, but there was nothing more to envy as there was a tea served with the sunrise every morning.

One regret was that, strangely, there were not many tourists because it was so cold. Foreign tourists were also rare. Unfortunately, I couldn't see a single Korean traveler, except for a yeti-looking person staying in the same dormitory as me. He wanted to get acquainted with him and go out with him, but he seemed hesitant to only smoke marijuana in the room. Now I miss the friends I met on the trip back home. If you enjoy this beautiful scenery and romance together, you will be doubled... … . Rice and tea eaten alone are not very sweet.

last trip Choosing Darjeeling at the end of the trip was an impulsive decision. When I was in Varanasi, the remaining travel period for me was about 2-3 weeks. I had no intention of going anywhere, so I decided to stay in Varanasi as it is and return home. But for some reason, staying in Varanasi was heavy and often painful. The little bottle that doesn't come off easily kept me wanting to leave Varanasi. At that time, a map I saw in the lobby of the hostel and a brochure about Darjeeling decisively moved me. Darjeeling opened up another possibility for me, who originally wanted to visit the snowy mountains of Nepal at the end of the trip, but gave up due to passport issues. It borders on the border of Nepal, and the mountain range of Kanchenjunga in the Himalayas stretches out. I imagined it to be different from the India I had traveled to so far. Perhaps if I went to Darjeeling, I thought that would be the last point of this trip. And the next morning I decided to leave to see the Himalayas.
