007 - When the rains come there are few options to get across the river. You can chose to travel by canoe or take the option of transportation by elephant. Every day the elephants are taken across the river morning and afternoon to gather their feed before calling it a night. During the rainy season it becomes increasingly difficult to traverse the bulging Seblat River.
A very personal photography project documenting the last of the remaining Sumatran elephants both in the wild and in captivity throughout the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. The documentary photographs are a direct record of life for the elephants of Sumatra being critically endangered with as few as 1000 remaining. This photography series will help bring to light the need to work to save these amazing animals and support through open sea and nft sales will help continue this much needed documentary series.
