This was just one of many nights spent wandering aimlessly around the city. We never usually had a set destination - we would just walk from one building to the next, hoping we'd be able to make it to the roof. We always stuck out as oddities - we'd be the only ones dressed in North Faces amongst a sea of suits and briefcases. Sometimes we'd dress up in dress shirts to attempt to fly under the radar, but we always ended up looking like awkward kids on their first day of work experience.

I am a female urban explorer hailing from Sydney, Australia. My photos show my teenage years spent exploring Australia's vast underground train tunnels, as well as dodging police and security on the edge of city rooftops. For me, photos are a unique expression of emotion. They have the power to immortalize fleeting moments and feelings. Loneliness, rebellion, joy, melancholy. When you are participating in an activity where you’re close to death, those emotions are always felt in their truest form.
I started rooftopping aged 13, and since then this hobby has caused significant ups and downs. At 16, I was arrested in a train tunnel. At 17, I fell six stories and broke my back while escaping from security. At 18, I finally quit this hobby that consumed my life. Now all I have left are these archives documenting places that will no longer see footsteps.
We were just kids with the keys to the city.
