Title: 'Apparition #3'
Edition: 1/1
The Ghosts of Elowah Special Edition Air Drops
Resolution: 6592x3296px
Date: 3/17/2021
Dropping more than 200 feet into a cavernous volcanic amphitheater, Elowah Falls was the first waterfall I saw when I first moved to Oregon back in 2007.
This area reminded me of the movie FernGully with a lush forest canopy hugging the fern-lined McCord Creek. It was easy to imagine fairies and nymphs dancing through the trees as the smell of wet moss filled the air.
I wasn't able to return to Elowah until March 2021 as the Eagle Creek Wildfire devastated nearly 50,000 acres of pristine forest and kept this location inaccessible for the last four years. Most of that lush forest was gone, but signs of life were present and I had hope for the recovery of the area. Sadly, just weeks after this image was made, another major landslide closed this gem of the Columbia River Gorge indefinitely.
This Special Edition NFT Air Drop NFT was only made available to first-time collectors of 'The Ghosts of Elowa' Collection
