The shoot-em-up game starring the eponymous video game character Moorhuhn or Crazy Chicken became one of the first mass phenomena of the 2000s after its release, thus establishing the age of casual games. The game, originally developed as an advertising game for the spirits manufacturer Johnnie Walker, was presented on laptops in selected pubs and bars. Because the file was small, it could easily be sent by e-mail. As a result, the game spread at a rapid pace, achieved Europe-wide popularity and even paralysed European offices at times because employees were playing Moorhuhn like crazy. Born when the internet was still in its infancy, the Moorhuhn returns in Summer 2021 and is more than ready to push the boundaries of the digital world once again - as a digital collector's item to be experienced completely in Augmented Reality.
