The classical muses are taking over the metaverse! This collection features classical paintings glitched through the process of data-bending. It involves turning the photo into a sound file, then distorting it through Audacity, an audio editing software. After the distortion, the sound wave is converted back to an image file, revealing the glitched image. The process of data-bending reflects the new form of aestheticisation I am experimenting with. It acknowledges that the data that makes up the entire Metaverse is a medium in itself for creative exploration. Data-bending subverts the norms of visual clarity and opens up a new way of seeing in this new digital age.
