Starbucks refers to this store, in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market, as their first, but in reality their first location opened in 1971 at 2000 Western Avenue, in a building that was razed in 1974. The company then opened this cafe, technically making this their fourth. This Pike Place Starbucks is now iconic and a tourist attraction, as most people believe it to be the original.
