The art was developed by Chicago-based social impact artist Olusola "Shala" Akintunde, a pioneer in the medium of solar art, which seamlessly merges art and solar technology. Shala’s work challenges social narratives while providing creative solutions to social challenges in the form of public art installations and gallery works, which prompt viewers to re-examine forms of media and technology.

Profits of the NFT will go to the artist and the Cannabis Equity IL Coalition. The Coalition is a grassroots non-profit formed by community members fighting to make sure the legalization of cannabis in Illinois repairs and reinvests in the communities most impacted by the War on Drugs, and to ensure the cannabis industry prioritizes people over profits. Funds from NFT sales will go directly back into the operations of the Coalition, providing resources like community resource fairs, record clearing events, know your rights and community advocacy teach-in’s, and more.
