Meta-Morphosis By Baghead
BH: I bought a “solid project truck” during the pandemic, until the engine gave out on me shortly after. I dealt with a lot of uncertainty, financial and professional insecurities all while sheltered at home. I felt mentally and physically stuck in that time and place for what seemed like forever. Instinctively I dove deeper into my practice and out of that came Cyduck, a boundless character from the future, backed up by few guardian dogs.
This piece depicts that time and place when dealing with adversity. Two Easter eggs within the piece include a self portrait of myself behind the steering wheel. The second is the actual sound of the new engine in my now running truck.

Bio:
Known for his background in graphic design, wooden sculptures, installations and murals, Baghead adopts this new platform to animate his characters from another universe. Re-emerging animal symbolisms including canines, ducks, and snakes implies BH’s grapple with fears, a nostalgic homage, and his willingness to evolve.
Superchief Gallery is the world's 1st physical dedicated NFT gallery space. Since we opened our first digital art gallery in Soho back in 2016, Superchief has held the belief that digital-native artwork was an essential art form to include as part of the larger art movement of our era. We have had been running our version of a traditional art gallery space since 2012 and by 2016 we knew well that there wasn't a clear way to monetize digital artwork. But we felt strongly that just because we couldn't sell it at the present time, didn’t mean it should be kept apart from the art community at large. These are artists we feel are brilliant and exciting, and should be part of the cultural exchange.
