This unique multi-media animated version of the photo entitled “Fishion” is image 1 of 5 in the series “Encyclosurrealia” which explores the surrealism of history and science.The story behind Fishion combines an optometry office and a fish aquarium and is inspired by how creative vision is born and fused with dreams. This live action photo set was the first photo set I ever built in the basement of an old candy factory in Lancaster, PA and involved cutting out multitudes of paper fish found from dozens of yard sale encyclopedias .  Shortly before photographing this photo world, a pipe burst in my studio and flooded the whole set causing me to have to scoop up all the fish and take them to dry at the corner laundromat before rehanging them and taking this image. Essentially my studio became the aquarium.  This is both my genesis piece and also the first photography set I ever built in 2008. It also inspired me to begin my path of sobriety and to use art to heal my heart.

I will be donating 30% of all net sales of this NFT to continuing the creation of photography mentorship programs for children in the slum community of Kroo Bay in Sierra Leone. The goal of this program is to put a digital camera in each child’s hand and to teach them the foundations of photography and personal creative expression. This program was begun by Lynn Rossi (the artist) in 2018 and started with traditional 35mm film cameras. In addition i will be donating another 30 % of sales to continue to sponsor the education of college bound Sierra Leone students in the city of Freetown. A year of tuition costs approximately $450 and I am currently sponsoring 4 students by the names of Moses (social science), Alfred ( political science), John (computer science) an Messie (hospitality management)

Each NFT purchase will also include an 11x14 museum quality digital print with the story of this image included.
