A collaboration between generative artist HEX0x6C (digital layer coded in Processing) and visual artist Chiara Braidotti (hand drawing on top of) for a (forthcoming) Virtual Reality museum telling the history of Ethereum through art.
The launch of CryptoKitties - a game where you breed and collect digital cats that live on the blockchain - led the way for the future of complex Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The token contract was deployed on block 4605167. Kitty #1, however, was actually minted later at block 4605346. While CryptoKitties was not the first NFT to be deployed on the blockchain, it quickly became the most popular application by far, and eventually it clogged the Ethereum network, with the whole infrastructure struggling to keep up with Ethereum transactions. CryptoKitties remains one of the most popular NFTs to date.
