Meyer Lansky's Diaries

The Mob Experience is proud to present the Meyer Lansky diaries. The diaries are part of an estate purchased consisting of personal belongings of Meyer Lansky.

After his death in 1983, his wife, Thelma Teddy Lansky, preserved all his personal belongings in a storage unit. Meyer and Thelma Lansky’s granddaughter, Cynthia Duncan, inherited her grandfather’s belongings. This included the storage unit that held his personal belongings and artifacts. Cynthia sold the entire lot to the Mob Experience.

Within the unit, four spiral bound notebooks were discovered in the bottom of a laundry hamper. These are known as the Lansky Diaries. Later in life, Meyer Lansky was contemplating writing a book. In preparation for this, he documented many of his memories in relation to his criminal history.

After counsel from his lawyers, he elected to not write his book and the spiral notebooks were thrown in a hamper where they remained until the sale to the Mob Experience.
