The silence of the night is broken by the alarm in the darkness of the small guest house in the colorful village of Malang (East Java). It's 2am when I jump on the vehicle and drive to the close National Park. Dropped the vehicle off, a couple of hours climb takes me up to the lookout point wrapped by darkness, silence and the crisp night air. The warm, soft light of the dawn begins to open the curtain of the night and the Bromo, Tengger and Semeru volcanoes enter the scene.
