Cognitive Awareness is a photographic project by the artist Alessandro Risuleo, aimed precisely at raising awareness about the use of technologies in our lives, especially the one we ignorantly refer to as "Artificial Intelligence", actually known as Machine Learning. The awakening phase indicates the realization by the human being, the central humanoid figure, who is still imprisoned inside an unknown force controlled by a machine, the red ring. How much computational is inside the human nature? And what is this big difference between an algorithm that manages the flow of information on the Internet and the distribution mechanism of nerve signals in our brain? If it is true that algorithms learn from us, they study us, they learn to know us, it is also true that they often do it so well that we depend on those "advice" - or mental impositions - that they give back to us, creating a unique network of addictions where it is almost impossible to separate who is “learning” from whom.
