Part of a series of digital ink and paint interventions, utilising the power of Indian ink as a natural generative system.
“Generative Art” refers to art that in whole or in part has been created with the use of an autonomous system. An autonomous system is one that is non-human and can independently determine features of an artwork that would otherwise require decisions made directly by the artist.
Although Generative Art normally refers to algorithmic art, it can also be made using natural systems such as physics, chemistry and biology.
I have made my Ink Interventions with a part-generative process, using the natural systems of gravity and the biology of indian ink’s natural generative process in interacting with printing photography. See more here - https://www.annalouisesimpson.com/blog/2020/7/4/natural-generative-art
