2016 It's probably my most popular static artwork, and even though I'm sick of it, the subject matter is pretty generic for me now and it's clearly not a match with my today's skills, it has a long history.
Originally I painted it in 2 days under the influence of 88' song by The Northern Lights. That's exactly what I hear when I look at this artwork. But many music artists felt differently. They were sure their music is the best match for it. I kept hearing this all the time when someone emailed me. And then it got out of control: it went viral on Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, many people used it without my permission, some paid me to license it. It was licensed by a world-class changing room style of music DJ (Nicky Romero), it was stolen by some famous Persian rappers before I DMCA'd them. It was cosplayed by some couple in Miami (they had a new Mustang, meh), I got lots of fan art emailed to me from different people. And till this day I'm getting emails and messages about "how it's the most beautiful thing in the world" (LOL)
My art is too different now, and I just kind of want to let it go.
