Just a little less than two years ago, this really cool, oddly shaped, old building on Vandercook Way in Longview, WA, USA, Earth, was torn down. It was a complete tragedy, in my opinion, because quirky buildings like this one no longer seem to be built---around here, anyway. Every new building that goes up is some variation on the "Bland-Square-Cardboard Box" theme, maybe with a faux-column or two, or a stylized front-piece, but other than that completely featureless---but this building, the one they torn down in October of 2017, was just cool. It had a bunch of windows, and an overhanging area in front (which you can see in my photo---although it didn't usually have so much debris in it) where cars could be parked and shown off. Unfortunately, the building sat empty for a few years, and I was told by the owner of one of the businesses across the street from this one that the roof was severely damaged and that it would take a TON of money to repair it---so the whole thing was demolished... And now there's a big, empty lot on this corner instead... Pretty shitty. The town is just a little bit less interesting now...
