DEAD PIGS CAN FLY (RESTORED)

In Jay Delay’s newest “DEFLATIONARY ART” installment of digitally deflating Koons’ inflatable sculptures, Mylar balloon pigs are punctured with a digital device and quickly deflated before being patched and re-inflated to create a work of art that is both ’intimidating’ and ‪frustrating’ at the same time. After being deflated for a while, Jay dons a fur coat and the pigs start to float again, thanks to a huge collar with helium that pumps upward. Time and again, you feel your jaw slightly grinding against the floor as he rings up more and more pig balloons. Most artist would give up at this point, but Jay seems determined to continue on his quest for deflating more and more so called ‘’inflatable’ sculptures.

Glancing at the pair for a moment, he blinks and a few muscles in his face quiver. He seems even more excited by this fact. "Do you want some?" he asks. This is a recreation of the resurrection and release in “DEAD PIGS CAN FLY”.

In just a few hours, the temporary city sculpture will finally complete its circuit and be safely returned to storage.Nashville-based Jay Delay a famous name in cryptoart sculpture and one of the world's foremost experts in this field ’ is responsible for the gigantic, gruesome display.

The pigs will not make it to an afterlife, “They will die on the pier," says Jay, adding that the wood from the pontoons is "the most problematic part of the sculpture." The parapet holding up the pigs' heads has been fixed, but more costly repairs will have to be made once the heads get shakier.

Delay’s work resonates with Tyler Perry’s Balloon Boy (A statement from Jay Delay): "These pigs are cute. “

They are not.  No one needs another half naked pig costume filled with helium; Jeff Koons has enough fur and animal destruction to do it.

The exhibit is just like any other gallery opening: gallery goers are ushered into a room where an artist has kindly let them lay the arm on which they are standing. It's a comfortable room, but with an image of a fawn-sized portrait of Jay Delay that's tilted way up and the door is slightly ajar to expose one of KOONS’ large Mylar balloon scuptures deflating digitally. Everyone should briefly check out the exhibition before stepping up to the big screen, confident that there will be lots of movement and lots of HOT PAIN, or possibly some Other Stuff. Fortunately, Jay Delay does this for a living. Fortunately. The exhibit on view now is the culmination of several years' worth of Jay Delay's prolific output, and he has lined up the highly quotable guest artists and iconic musician's that join him for "Music From Hell II", including SLIPKNOT, BROCKHAMPTON, MODERN MUSIC and MOTÖRHEAD. ಠ_ಠ
