Korea has had a poor history of foreign invasion, colonial rule, and division of the two Koreas. For this reason, the government tried to preserve our history by creating a framework of tangible and intangible cultural properties to protect tradition. However, living in a modern society where times have passed and traditions have just become "traditions," I wanted to introduce the beautiful folk culture of my home country as that of this era. Many traditional cultural heritages in Korea are currently enshrined in museum glass halls, but I think they can only be alive if they are also used by living people and moved from mouth to mouth. Culture as a burial object or relic buried in the soil has value as a "classic," but the original meaning has already been lost. The project that started with that idea is We Are Alive.
