Wu Qingqing was the head designer for leaders who attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in 2014. He designed 34 garments for leaders and their wives coming from 21 participating countries, calling his collection “New Chinese Dress.” In order to continue promoting APEC’s core beliefs in equality, charity, and cooperation, designer Wu Qingqing has decided to transform his 34 looks into NFT artworks and donate thirty percent of the proceeds to emerging artists. The garment design elements adopt traditional Chinese culture and serve to honor the past in the present. Wu Qingqing’s collection adopts stand-up collars, a pair of open plackets, raglan sleeves, jacquard embroidered patterns, and Song Dynasty brocade aesthetics. The styles reflect the aesthetic style of " shapeless elephant, large, plain and simple.”
