Užupis is a district in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site of Vilnius’ (LT) old town. After the breakdown of Soviet Union, the district of Užupis drowned in poverty and violence. The artists of Užupis declared our the district an independent republic to save the citizens' lives with love, humor and paradox. Today, the spirit of Užupis is supported by 500+ ambassadors and honorary citizens like His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The ambassadors build bridges between people.

The Embassy of the Republic of Užupis to Munich is a free collective of artists, creatives, and humanoids. We build bridges between arts and technology to make innovations more accessible, ethical and inspired. We create experiences and artworks to explore the unthinkable. For this, wee have collaborated with partners like United Nations, Harvard University, and Ars Eletronica Research Institute Knowledge for Humanity.
