The Tulip Mania was the first recorded speculative bubble in history. At its peak, some single tulip bulbs were being sold for more than ten times the annual salary of a skilled artisan. Today, we have NFTs, or non fungible tokens, which work as digital certificates of ownership for digital art pieces, among other uses. Some of these art pieces are being sold for tens of millions of dollars, and while some are quite good, many are of questionable quality.

Will these pieces still be worth something ten years from now, or are they just digital tulips? Who can say.
