City in the Community, Manchester City's charity, empowers healthier lives with city youth through football. Programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.
The City Girls programme provides safe spaces for young women to engage in football, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and develop leadership skills. Through after-school clubs and community spaces, girls across Greater Manchester have the regular opportunity to play for free with City in the Community. Using the power of football and brand of Manchester City, the City Girls project aims to provide safe spaces for young girls to engage in football, improving their physical and mental wellbeing, as well as develop leadership and coaching skills for people under the age of 25.
Manchester City’s proceeds from the drop (50%) will go to the City in the Community charity, earmarked for the City Girls programme.
