the missing part of us

covid-19, pandemic, lockdown, isolation, hand sanitiser… masks

home office, zoom calls, livestreams, stories, online schooling

In a blink of an eye the world as we knew has turned to dust, the relationships are profoundly changed. We go out on the street (when we do) but we can’t see smiles, mouths, lips, chins or noses anymore. Half of people’s faces are gone.

We became awkward ninjas, fighting an invisible enemy.

Back home, alone, is the only time we could see the whole face of our friends, the only way we get to see chins, mouths, nostrils and smiles is in low resolution pixels of a video-call or livestream. This is our paradox, we can’t see people in person, there’s a missing part of everyone a part we just see on the screens.

Our human relations are losing resolution, in a mosaic of people-pixels.
