 Boosters

Booster paintings by Peter Wayne Lewis are acrylic on linen or paper, inspired by physics’ String Theory that all matter consists of tiny vibrating strings. They are a mind map to a journey of the spirit. They are a choreography and language of the body revealing unseen FRACTAL patterns, that make up the appearance of the world. Peter is imagining the insides of his body and the patterns that are buried in his bones, synapses and chromosomes. The paintings are done without any forethought, like a JAZZ riff seeking a rhythm that is truthful. Bending Time paintings are about the non-linear nature of time that bends, warps and shifts into many different fractal patterns. They are about how we negotiate time as human beings; a concept that we invented that tries to imagine how the heavenly bodies move in the cosmos. These paintings are reflecting on culture, which also determines the human relationship with the construct of time through tribal customs, often referencing the seasons.
