The OGs is a series of 2,048 digital paintings that blend generative art, code, AI and digital painting to reimagine the world’s most universal symbols, the emojis, as painterly digital relics.
Each work begins with a hand-drawn emoji that is transformed by algorithms into new visual forms, merging human gesture with computational process. The result is a hybrid between painting and code where emotion and technology meet.
Emojis are treated as cultural fossils, carrying traces of our shared digital language while evolving through distortion and abstraction. The collection spans twelve rarity tiers, from Common Core icons to ultra-rare Digital Relics, each with its own visual style, from soft blurs to vibrant glitches.
Rooted in early web aesthetics and post-internet art, The OGs celebrates the imperfections of the digital age and continues FAR’s exploration of how contemporary painting can exist through algorithms and pixels.
