Another key aspect for me was avoiding repetitive traits. Across many collections, traits tend to repeat or force themselves onto the same base figure.

That’s not the case with Nerd Mutants.

Because of the intense radiation during the cosmic catastrophe, I was able to design mutations with no limits to imagination.

As an illustrator, I gained the freedom to think beyond the horizon. Nothing had to make sense anymore and that was the point.
