When winter comes, the ice shacks begin to appear on the frozen ice of the lakes of Northern Ontario, Canada.
To capture these photographs, I would put on my nordic skis, and head out onto the lake ice with my camera.  Sometimes I would find a solitary shack miles from any other, other times l'd come across a whole cluster of them like a tiny village on a barren landscape.
Mostly I loved the quiet solitude of being out on the ice.  Alone with the sound of my skis and the wind to keep me company.
The Ice Shacks are whimsical, unique, and they all have so much character and personality.
I have tried to photograph them with a minimalist, Wes Anderson vibe.
