"Face Value" is a 126-piece in-house Orangehare production built on the visual language of collage, photography, and performance. Every face is built on the models previously featured in “Recognition Layering.” However, floral overlays, peeled textures, and tattooed surfaces fracture the skin into something closer to genre piecse across six distinct traits. Created in collaboration with Studio Totem and Korean tattoo artist Sam i Am, the series follows in the footsteps of “Flora Obscura” and “Recognition Layering,” continuing our exploration of how identity is layered, concealed, or performed in the digital realm. Assembled and adapted through Orangehare’s in-house production process, "Face Value" asks what it means to be seen, and whether recognition is ever more than surface deep.
