Everyman started in late 2022 from my love for classical art. It began as a small after-work joy, but quickly snowballed into my part-time job.

The first year was great: learning new techniques, getting used to my XP pen tablet, building the early canvas of Everyman.

Then Year 2 hit. My art style & skills plateaued hard. I kept redrawing ideas dozens of times, fixing thousands of variations. Everyman ate all my free time. Too hard to let go, too messy to continue. I became a drawing addict: the more I worked, the more exhausted I got. I picked up smoking to focus, drinking to cope, and somehow stumbled through the year, hence the nickname Alcoholic Painter.

In Year 3, I still loved the project but hated it even more. I cut down on alcohol, failed to quit cigarettes, but finally broke through the creative plateau. Ideas returned, chaotic but good. With consistency, I finished Everyman. At this point, victory or relief both feel the same. Success or failure doesn’t matter anymore.

Smoke to focus, drink to cope, and somehow learn how to crochet. That’s why there’s a tiny Alcoholic Painter here and a red scarf, real traits in Everyman. Three years on a project and you eventually start making merch of yourself.
