Erin Zofef, Ireland 1984. As a child Erin learnt to draw from his father, Udi Zofef that worked at the time illustrating aviation magazines. Later on he studied animation at the Bezalel academy of arts and design. Today Erin works as a painter and illustrator, his paintings have been exhibited among other places in Hamiffal gallery and Beit Kandinof. In his works Erin is drawn towards a hidden beauty that he often finds in seemingly ugly and broken places, such as abandoned houses, building sites and junk yards. His work process changes from one painting to another but is usually a combination of painting from life, reference photos that he takes or sometimes just from his imagination. In his paintings Erin attempts to create little spaces, frozen realities, that he invites us to step into for a moment, and disappear.
