Cool Cats teams up with Lotte to launch expansion into Asian Markets
Cool Cats has announced a new partnership with South Korean conglomerate Lotte, signaling plans to expand its presence in Asian markets.
The announcement follows closely on the heels of Pudgy Penguins’ Lotte collaboration to launch limited-edition collectibles in South Korea.
While details remain limited, Cool Cats teased the partnership with imagery hinting at snack-related products and references to its fictional world, Sapphire Town.
Gmoney to shut down phygital fashion brand 9dcc
Gmoney, the once-pseudonymous crypto investor and creator behind luxury phygital brand 9dcc, announced the project will formally wind down at the end of May.
Known for fusing fashion and blockchain tech, 9dcc gained recognition for its NFC-chipped garments, token-gated events, and community-driven design drops.
Gmoney cited economic challenges in both web3 and high-end retail but reaffirmed his belief in a future where ownership and verification happen transparently recorded on blockchain.
A 90-day redemption period will begin in early June for holders of vaulted items.
Ledger launches Visa card
Ledger has launched a new Visa debit card powered by CL Technology and issued by U.K-based Baanx Group. The card allows users to spend crypto at any point of sale while reportedly earning 1% cash back in Bitcoin or USDC.
Users have the option to deposit their paychecks directly into their CL Card account through a bank transfer, with the flexibility to either convert the funds into crypto or retain it in fiat currency.
Solana goes live on MetaMask browser extension
The popular MetaMask wallet has added native support for Solana in its browser extension. The update gives users a unified interface to manage both Ethereum and Solana accounts, with the ability to now send, receive, swap, bridge, and buy Solana tokens directly within MetaMask—no more need to switch wallets.
According to the announcement, mobile support is coming soon, and more non-Ethereum-based networks will follow.
Swiss watchmaker Franck Muller debuts Solana watch with built-in wallet
Swiss luxury watchmaker Franck Muller has released a limited-edition Solana-themed timepiece that doubles as a crypto wallet. Just 1,111 watches are being made, each priced at 20,000 Swiss francs (about $24,300). The timepieces feature a built-in QR code linked to the wearer’s Solana wallet.
Branded as a phygital product with high craftsmanship, the watches target web3 enthusiasts looking to showcase their crypto involvement.
Yield Guild Games launches first “Casual Degen” title, LOL Land
Yield Guild Games (YGG) has launched YGG Play, a new publishing division focused on casual, crypto-native titles, starting with its first release: LOL Land. The browser-based board game features characters from the Pudgy Penguins community and token-based rewards in both free and premium play modes.
The game, which has reportedly surpassed 100,000 pre-registrations, runs exclusively on Pudgy Penguins’ Abstract Chain.
Rather than aiming for mass-market appeal, YGG is targeting self-identified “casual degens”—aka crypto-savvy players who mint NFTs and value community-driven gameplay.
Marina Abramović enters NFT space with immersive digital art project
At 78, performance artist Marina Abramović is launching her first NFT collection, “Marina Abramović Element,” in collaboration with digital art platform TAEX.
The multi-part drop is inspired by her personal philosophy and fictional story called “Legend.” The chapters have been translated into NFTs which turn the artist into a motion-captured avatar performing dreamlike, meditative actions.
Refik Anadol and Lionel Messi team up for AI art auction benefiting UNICEF
New media artist Refik Anadol is collaborating with soccer legend Lionel Messi on an AI-generated artwork based on Messi’s favorite career goal.
The piece will combine a still image of the moment with Anadol’s data-driven interpretation, using millions of data points to visualize the play.
The work will debut at Christie’s New York on June 11. Bidding will be open through July 25. Proceeds will benefit the Inter Miami CF Foundation and its partnership with UNICEF to support education across Latin America and Caribbean.
