Sam Spratt announces winners of the Masquerade NFT competition

Sam Spratt, the digital artist known for his narrative-driven NFT series, “The Story of Luci,” announced the winners of The Masquerade, an interactive competition tied to his online puzzle party known as The Monument Game.

A group called The Council of Luci, made up of key participants and community members, selected three winners among those who contributed their observations to the project. Spratt congratulated winners Roger Dickerman, Ekaitza, and Parabolamusic, on X and began revealing and distributing Masks to winners.

“The Mask that’s been made for you is a link between us,” wrote Spratt on the Masquerade homepage. “That what you gave to the Masquerade was taken in, read over and over, and what you received is what I felt from you.”

He added that each Mask was “inspired by my love of people and all the funny forms we take.”

Finalists from the Monument Game also received Masks, along with those who submitted notable contributions.

SquiggleDAO donates Chromie Squiggle to Nxt Museum

SquiggleDAO, a decentralized collector group focused on generative blockchain art, has placed “Chromie Squiggle #5069” on long-term display at Amsterdam’s Nxt Museum, which specializes in new media and digital art. 

Created by Art Blocks founder Snowfro, “Chromie Squiggle” was one of the first NFT projects to use on-chain generative algorithms, meaning each piece is uniquely created at the moment of minting

Nxt Museum, known for its immersive tech-driven exhibitions, displayed artwork featuring AI, augmented reality, and virtual reality to push boundaries of contemporary art. As more museums showcase generative NFTs, the trend signals a growing institutional recognition of art on chain.

Garga discusses future of Otherside

Yuga Labs co-founder Garga shared new details about Otherside, the metaverse tied to Bored Ape Yacht Club. In a recent interview, he highlighted the Guinness World Record set during a recent first-person-shooter (FPS) battle, where thousands of live users participated in Otherside and broke the previous real-time user record of 1,500.

Solano also confirmed that Project Dragon, Otherside’s large-scale multiplayer experience developed with metaverse tech company Improbable, was only the beginning. It appears gamers can expect more interactive events and a growing role for creators shaping Otherside’s world.

“My long-term vision for Otherside is to have it be the most thriving modding community … in crypto,” said Solano. “It should be the most fun, easiest, coolest place for builders to come and create a 3D world or experience.”

Sony and LINE partner to expand blockchain use in Japan

Global electronics giant Sony is teaming up with LINE, Japan’s dominant messaging platform, to expand its blockchain offerings. 

The partnership will reportedly focus on bringing four “mini-games” to Sony’s Soneium blockchain platform built with Optimism’s OP Stack.

The collaboration could help mainstream crypto use in Japan, where LINE has over 200 million users. 

9dcc teams up with Mastercard for wearable payments

9dcc, the web3 fashion brand founded by digital creator gmoney, has partnered with Mastercard to launch Pass to Priceless: Bay Hill Capsule, a limited-edition collection available to cardholders at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The capsule features nine high-end items sporting both classic and modern design elements. The look celebrates the history of the late golfer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge. Contactless technology is embedded inside the garments, unlocking digital collectibles and limited-edition merchandise in collaboration with 9dcc. 

Axie Infinity reveals new web3 game Atia’s Legacy

Sky Mavis, the blockchain gaming studio behind Axie Infinity, announced Atia’s Legacy, a new massively multiplayer online game (MMO) expanding its web3 ecosystem.

The game includes squad-based combat, resource management, and social interactions. Sky Mavis also says it is applying lessons from years of web3 gaming to improve playability and in-game economies.

My Pet Hooligan is heading to Xbox

My Pet Hooligan, the web3 multiplayer action game from AMGI Studios, is officially coming to Xbox. 

Players can now add the game to their wishlist on the Xbox store ahead of its release.

The move signals a push to bring blockchain-integrated gaming to a wider audience beyond PC and crypto-native players.

AI art at Christie’s auction sells for record prices

Christie’s held its first AI-generated art auction, Augmented Intelligence, and brought in a reported $728,784. Nearly half of the buyers were millennials and Gen Z, which shows a growing interest in algorithm-assisted digital art. 

The sale included on-chain works from artists like Refik Anadol and Claire Silver. Anadol’s “Machine Hallucinations – ISS Dreams – A” sold for $277,200.

Jen Stark’s immersive art hits the Sphere 

Jen Stark, the artist known for her psychedelic and hypnotic visuals, has debuted a new installation at the Las Vegas Sphere. 

Titled “Cosmic Cascade,” the large-scale projection transforms the venue’s massive LED display with Stark’s signature geometric patterns and bold rainbow drips.

The piece is part of the Sphere’s XO/Art Program and will be on display about two times per hour throughout the month of March.

Jimena Buena Vida’s brings her art to Bitcoin Ordinals

Generative artist and coder Jimena Buena Vida has released “Between Every Line, Love,” a limited-edition ordinals collection on Gamma, a digital art marketplace for NFTs and Bitcoin ordinals.

The collection, available exclusively to Gamma Winter Pass holders, explores themes of self-acceptance. 

“We are conditioned to shrink, to chase quick results, to prioritize external validation over creativity, purpose, and love,” wrote Buena Vida on X, describing the project as a reflection on choosing self-awareness over external pressures.
