Yuga Labs sells Moonbirds IP to gaming startup Orange Cap Games
Yuga Labs, the company behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, has sold the intellectual property (IP) rights to Moonbirds, along with its Mythics and Oddities collections, to Orange Cap Games, a venture-backed gaming startup focused on building NFT-integrated worlds.
While product plans are still in development, the team has confirmed that Moonbirds avatars will appear in Otherside, Yuga’s metaverse.
Orange Cap also said "As part of this deal, we have agreed that the future on-chain components of the Moonbirds IP created by us will exist either on a mainnet blockchain, or if it’s on an L2, that the only L2 we would consider will be ApeChain."
Claynosaurz to become animated kids series through Mediawan partnership
Mediawan Kids & Family, the youth division of European entertainment group Mediawan, is partnering with Claynosaurz to produce a 39-episode animated series based on the viral dinosaur brand born from a collection of 10,000 claymation NFTs.
Aimed at kids ages 6 to 12, the show will bring Claynosaurz’s quirky, VFX characters from shortform web3 content to a mainstream audience on YouTube and beyond.
Originally created by a team of notable animators, Claynosaurz grew its fanbase through collectible NFTs and humorous videos that have attracted over 450 million views across their various online channels.
The partnership adds a new dimension to Claynosaurz’s on-chain origin story, and arguably more credibility for web3-born IP brands.
Phantom launches social feed to track real-time activity
Phantom, a widely used Solana wallet, has launched a social feed in beta that brings real-time on-chain activity into the wallet experience.
Similar to your Venmo feed, users can now follow wallets, track trending tokens, and react to transactions using emoji-style responses, all within the app.
The feature includes privacy controls, while also providing the option for curated, token-specific feeds.
For NFT enthusiasts, the new functionality has upgraded Phantom from a storage tool into an interactive discovery platform, providing a streamlined way to stay informed and engaged.
World of Women names Vi Powils as new CEO, expands Michelin partnership at WoW Gala Lisbon
Leading up to its signature gala, World of Women (WoW) has appointed Vi Powils as the brand’s new CEO. A seasoned operator with a background in community growth and strategic partnerships, Powils previously served as Director of Business Development at Pudgy Penguins, where she played a key role in scaling the standout brand through licensing deals and retail partnerships.
During Powils’ tenure, Pudgy Penguins expanded its physical toy line into major U.S. retailers including Walmart, Target, and Walgreens. The brand also launched licensing initiatives through platforms like Overpass, which enables NFT holders to monetize their characters.
Powils’ onstage debut at NFC Lisbon set the tone for a refreshed vision at WoW, which is also expanding its partnership with the MICHELIN Guide for the second year in a row. Kaito reveals 'Yapybara' genesis NFTs
Kaito AI, a crypto-native search engine and research platform, has launched its Genesis NFT collection called “Yapybara.” The collection features 1,500 profile picture-style NFTs, including 21 unique one-of-one artworks created by FroggyCyborg, the digital artist behind the design.
The NFTs serve as both digital art pieces and as functional items with utility within Kaito’s ecosystem.
Disney+ partners with Dapper Labs to deliver monthly NFTs to 150 million Disney+ users
Disney is teaming up with blockchain gaming firm Dapper Labs to launch Disney Pinnacle, a digital collectible platform that will distribute free NFT “pins” to Disney+ subscribers each month.
Modeled after Disney’s classic enamel pins, the digital versions will be issued on the Flow blockchain and tradable through Dapper’s wallet system.
Although users don’t need crypto knowledge to participate, they will still interact with blockchain infrastructure through fiat purchases and wallet use.
Off The Grid launches Red Ant Battle Pass ahead of Steam debut
Gunzilla Games has rolled out the Red Ant Battle Pass for Off The Grid, its blockchain-powered battle royale title built on Avalanche.
The update introduces themed character and weapon skins, new in-game items like the mobility-enhancing Cyberlancer cyberlimb, and several performance and gameplay upgrades.
The release comes as the game prepares for its Steam launch later this month.
Operator unlocks choreography data for NFT holders
Operator, the Madrid-based duo working at the intersection of choreography and technology, will release the next phase of their blockchain-based dance project “Human Unreadable” later this month.
Holders of the original Ethereum NFTs will be able to unlock a second, soulbound token that reveals the exact sequence of the dance movements encoded in their piece. As artist Dejha Ti, who comprises one half of Operator alongside longtime collaborator Ania Catherine, described that these these soulbound NFTs are permanently tied to their originals and act as digital choreographic scores.
The duo began releasing “Human Unreadable” in 2023. This update marks the next milestone in the long-term project, which first minted on Art Blocks and will culminate in a live performance based on the first 100 NFT sequences at the end of 2026.
